Since 1996, Heffron Transportation has assisted Pierce County
with master planning, development review, and transportation
impact analyses for its Chambers Creek Properties in the City
of University Place, Washington.
The
original Master Site Plan and EIS, for which Heffron
Transportation prepared all the traffic and parking analyses,
was adopted in August 1997. Subsequently, Pierce County has
developed its award-winning Environmental Services Building on
the site and completed its Chambers Bay Golf Course in 2007.
The Robert-Trent-Jones-II-designed 18 hole-championship golf
course is host to the 2015 U.S. Open and 2010 U.S. Amateur
Championships. Heffron Transportation supported the recent
golf-course master planning process as well as the SEPA review
and permitting effort. Heffron Transportation also assists
Pierce County with Master Site Plan Updates and supplemental
environmental review. Elements reviewed for the site include
an environmental education center, conference facilities, and
an off-leash dog play area.
